You couldn't always get your way,

No matter how hard you tried,


Your parents knew what was best for you,

What they were doing for you was right.


But at the time you couldn't see it,

You continued to put up a fight.


Now you're older, and wiser,

You're plenty more astute.


Now you know so many things,

You were never taught in school,


Yet if you're still kicking and screaming,

Every time you turn on the news,


And suckered in to waste your time,

Witnessing the abuse,


It's likely that your state of being isn't working for you,

It might be due to the fact you fell for the latest ruse?


If you resist what you DON'T WANT,

Everything you resist persists,


Take a step back and check to see,
If there was a puzzle piece you missed.


All your life you've been pushed to do better,

Like you were when you stomped and cried,


And now you understand the new world unfolding,

In your heart, you know it was right.
